I read this story this morning but they haven’t named the official. It would be interesting to find out what games he officiated and who won in those games. They are saying he bet on games that he officiated in and might have worked the point spread in his favor in relation to his betting.

The said the investigation started recently and that it was a current NBA official. If anyone has any real info on this as far as who has been named, that would be great.

I am new to gambling and I would like some help. If you have any sites that will show the VERY basics to how it works please tell me.

What I am wondering is, lets say I want to bet on a football game, do most people bet on just 1 game, or a spread of games.

I also dont mean just online betting, I mean like betting with a bookie too.

If they do bet on just a game too, like what would it be….

Like if I put 0 on the game, what do I get…

Please also explain to me what the odds mean and like what -100 and stuff means…

A) How can Las Vegas have such control of games? Let’s say the Over Under was 40 points. How do odds makers not only determine that but how are they so accurate?

B) How are the spreads translated through the players’ eyes. They seem to go for useless TD’s at the end of games; they also don’t score when it’s needed.

I can see how this happens in college with a botched kick here or a
botched kick there….But how does this happen in the NFL?
I understand money is a part of the equation. But how does the aspect of money get down to the players? Do they bet for or against their own teams when the spread is within reach? A perfect example was last night’s 49er game. O/U is 38. Seahawks scored a useless TD at the end to make the O/U 38. Do players know the O/U is 38?

If not, what other games?

Would playing only with 0 compared to 0 hurt or help your blackjack success?

Ive heard the longer you play the more likely you’ll lose

I’m in a football challenge. Every week I can pick 5 games & choose what team I want to win based on the point spread from USA Today. I had 3 wins & 2 losses my first week which isn’t exactly a spectacular start but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

So do you have any advice on what games I should pick for this weekend? I really wanted to go 5-0 my first week. I’m depressed. Help me. I can win ,000 at the end of the Season if I come in first. Thanks!

Don’t get all huffy sabes99, if he was betting on the games - it is also a gambling question.

Perhaps you should have read the story better.

Good Lord

If you were a commisioner of a major sports league (such as the NFL or NBA), would you allow coaches and players from your own league to bet on games if their winnings went exclusively to charity? I thought about this while reading an article on foxsports.com.

I’m looking for a website to play poker (hold em mostly, but other games are a bonus), just to learn and play against people who are good. I’m sick and tired of playing people who make crap calls and get lucky. I’ve already tried pokerstars.net and it seems like I can’t always get a serious game. Can you help me?

I played at online casino and realized the games are rigged because as long as the bets are small, about , there are chances of winning sometimes, about 50 percent, but when bets are big, more than the chances of losing increase dramatically, up to 90 percent. Of course, the casino will never admit this and claim fairness. If someone helps me recover my money I could share a percentage of the recovered money. I live in Mexico.

A NFL player (Micheal Vick) may of been betting on dogs that fight. A NBA ref may of fixed the point spread of games while a pro westler killed his wife, disabled son, and himself.

Me and my buddy are pretty solid poker players (amateur, but better than the tourists who only watch on TV), and we are going to visit Atlantic City on either Friday afternoon or Saturday during the day (maybe both). I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions for the best casino?

Which casino has the best limit games, any tournaments on Friday night or Saturday morning, and finally, the best buffet (since we’ll be getting lunch or dinner in AC at some point). Thanks!

Here’s the scoop. I am a 19 year old guy, never had a gf (since like 1st grade anyway… long story haha) and I just started college. I work for another college doing scoreboard at sports events, and I have gotten a crush on one of the female athletes. I wouldn’t normally think much of it, since I don’t know her, but I haven’t had a crush on anyone in years (even tho I have many attractive female friends) so I must see something special about her. She is clearly very outgoing and fun, but also very smart (it’s a prestigious university). She’s a junior, a little over a year older than me.
I don’t really know how to act when I meet her. My Dad knows most of players since he works there and I bet he’ll eventually introduce me, I could even ask him, but how would I act? Whenever I get introduced it’ll just be as a staff worker to an athlete, nothing more, so how can I make it more like we are friends, then work from there?
Any advice as to how I can get things started with this girl?
The thing is I just don’t know how dating works, really. Would it be wierd if a guy you haven’t really seen before just walked up on you and asked to get coffee sometime or is that just the way it works when you get older? I really feel like I have the confidence in myself to cross this line for the first time, but it’s such unknown territory that I’m afraid I won’t know what to do… and then end up creeping her out which would be bad for both of us since I’ll be at most of her games right next to the bench doing the scoreboard. I should certainly be more optimistic but really it’s just scary being in a situation like this with myself when I haven’t done anything like this before. I have missed out on stuff like this and I feel like I’m starting a little late, and I think she is pretty experienced with it since she’s very outgoing and she really has to be at such a high-caliber university, while I’m quiet at times (not alot at this point but a little) and go to a community college….

I have an account online to bet sports, I deposited 0 and they gave me an extra 0 free. So I want to bet on some games and on who will win the Super Bowl this coming year. Anyone have any information or know of a place to get some great NFL bets to bet on?
No one has any idea which teams are going to be good to bet on? OR go to the Super Bowl?

is online fantasy football/baseball etc. gambling? cause in my ‘research’ it doesn’t explain very much, especially on the sites where it’s performed, so i was wondering what you do exactly. someone told me that you bet on which NFL teams will win the games and you watch them online or something and then you get money when ‘your team’ wins?? help me please. and why i want to know about this you ask? i’m doing a report on it. pretty lame if you ask me, but o well.
thanks!

Soccer game betting consists of: Home, Draw & Away.

The permutations for this bet is picking 7 Games to the power of
3 possible outcomes = 2187 permutations.

Whats are the combinations of getting 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 games right & wrong in any order out of 7 games to add up to 2187 permutations?

I’m just looking for a place to play for fun and practice. Every place I check out you have to pay for or you need money to play, or the only games they have are solitaire and such B.S.
I need a place to play poker, for fun, not money right now.
Any helpful working answer gets you 10 pts.
No, I’m not a compulsive gambler. ;)
Thanks in advance.

I am going to win some money online today, and I’m looking for an online casino with quick payouts of winnings! I guess the games should be fair as well.

The Full Tilt Poker site (I mean the real money one) does not make clear how big their rake is for ring games. Does anyone know what it is, or where on their site they have this information? How does their rake compare to that of physical casinos?

Thanks!

Might be a crazy question but where can I, either online or near me (i’m on Long Island, New York) where I can place sports bets? Like a sports book? I’m a huge NFL and NCAA Football fan and I always watch the games and wish I could bet on a team to win and maybe win some money. Can anyone help me out?

PS: I remember last season looking at some websites to place bets but nothing seemed black and white (win or lose) It was going by a point (+ or -) system that I really didn’t quite understand.

Thanks!

I just got back from Vegas and must have played 1000 games of keno. Believe it or not, I actually won! Where can I play keno online?

I’m looking for a poker site that I can play free but can win real cash. I know some sites offer freeroll tournaments, but I’d like to play ring games too. Any site that provides both ring and tournament game offering real prize?

have to predict 12 games, 3 results for each game ( win, lose, draw)
1= home win X= draw 2=away win.

eg 1X2 1X2 1X2 1X2 1X2 1X2 1X2 1X2 1X2 1X2 1X2 1X2

how many different outcomes are there?

Ok, Im going to give a little bit of the story first before the question.

I started using a Football Handicapping Service a couple of months ago. I started betting 0-0 a game then started betting more and more on the teams they told me to bet. Since then I have taken in almost K from following their advice and they have won like 21 out of the 24 games they have given me, and betting more and more.

The highest bet I have made so far was for 00 (which won Cardinals +3 last week). Now the Super Bowl is here, and the Sports Book I go to is going to allow me to bet pretty much any amount I want.

The service I use hasnt given me the play yet (they usually wait a day or 2 before the games to give them). So since I am up close to 35K in the past 2 months, should I risk it all?? risk 1/2? risk 1/4 ? I was thinking of just betting k…. I want some advice from those that bet big and know what I am feeling now sinc eI just started betting.
Yes I have the money in my possession. I cash in my Betting Slips the next day at the sportsbook I bet with here in Vegas. I do have the money in my bank account already.
