I’m a senior at a good high school, and I was wondering whether or not I can get into Emory since it’s a great school, is located instate, and has a beautiful campus. I am really betting on getting into this school (my backup is Georgia Tech).

(By the way, if I want to pursue med school, should I go to Emory or GA Tech? Georgia tech has a much more rigorous science program, but I’m really scared that it’s too hardcore for me…)

Okay, so for stats, my rank pretty much sucks. I’m right outside 15%, but I’m like, 90% sure I can bring it to top 15% (since right now, its around 15.5% out of around 630 students). My low rank is mainly because of three B’s (85, 86 in Pre-Calculus, and 89 in AP Chemistry first semester) and I took non-honors Spanish so I couldn’t get the 7 points for honors class.
My GPA is alright, it’s basically a 3.89, (hopefully a 3.9 if I get all A’s this semester in senior year).
SAT’s - 800 Math, 690 Reading, 800 Writing = 2290.
SAT 2’s (this is where I REALLY lack) - 760 Chemistry, 750 Math I (but I saw that Emory doesn’t require SAT 2’s… only recommend).
I should be graduating with 9 AP’s (World History, Lang, Chemistry, Calculus AB, Environmental Science, Calculus BC, Literature, Physics B, and Statistics)
All 5’s on the exams I have taken thus far (World, Lang, Chemistry, Calc AB).

As for extracurricular activities (I lack in this also) I basically only have a 4 year letter in Varsity Track. I hold three sprinting positions, 4×100m, 400m, 4×400m. I have held three school records, 2 past, 1 current. I basically dedicated my after school time to this sport.
I also participated in the school’s girl’s powderpuff team (Junior/Senior year, Running back) and we won. (it was class against class).
Other than that, I was part of Key Club, Interact Club, and World Relief for about one year each, that’s it.

As for a job, I took a summer job at a SAT tutoring place and taught Math for SAT 1. I basically had full workdays (from 9AM to 5-7PM) and worked an average of 40-45 hrs a week.

that’s it… I realized that I lack in extracurricular, SAT 2, and rank, but I’m hoping that I’d still be able to pull through… any advice?

By the way, I’m Korean. (I know that’s not supposed to have a great effect on admissions, but I understand that Emory has a large pool of East Asian applicants, so it probably makes it harder for me…)

I understand the concept, what I do not understand is if the players HAVE to put in the big blind. Lets say the guy with the big blind folds, does the next guy have to put it in to continue. What if the guy with the small blind folds (if that’s allowed) does the guy 2nd left of the dealer have to place the big blind still or just the small? Full details on how this works is appreciated.

Also, I see players stack chips on the hole cards sometimes. Is there a meaning behind that?

I know with first goalscorer that if your player X comes on after the first goal is scored then you get your stake back, but is it the same case with this?

I played at online casino and realized the games are rigged because as long as the bets are small, about , there are chances of winning sometimes, about 50 percent, but when bets are big, more than the chances of losing increase dramatically, up to 90 percent.
